May 2018 Degustabox Subscription Box Review

Hello! With May just about over, I just wanted to quickly share what came in this month’s Degustabox! Can you believe that the year is just about half way over already?! Anyway, the May Degustabox came with so many wonderful goodies, so of course I wanted to share!

First off, What’s a DegustaBox?

The Degustabox is a monthly subscription box that brings your favorite surprise snacks straight to your doorstep every month. The subscription costs $19.99 per month bringing you a big box of 10-15 goodies and products inside. When my Degustabox showed up to my house, I was surprised with how big and heavy the box was. When I opened it up, I found everything perfectly wrapped in brown paper. Degustabox does such a good job with wrapping the breakable glass items in bubble wrap to make sure no accidents happen upon delivery.

Taking a look inside the May box, I found so many delicious full-sized snacks and some products that I’ve never heard of! The box came with a few pieces of paper that tell a little bit about the products included in the box, and  sometimes includes a couple of recipes that include some of the products! There’s even sometimes coupons off some amazing products!

Here’s what came in the May 2018 Degustabox:

Karma Probiotics ($2.29)- This bottle is definitely unique in the way that at first it’s just filled with water, but with just a tad push on the lid and a little shake, it quickly transforms itself into yummy, vitamin/probiotic infused water. I was very impressed with the taste and think these are perfect for people who need a little extra vitamins in their lives! If I see these in the store, I would definitely repurchase or even try out the different flavors they offer!

Goya Cookies ($.89)- Now these look like “crackers” to me, but I think that they are called “cookies” in other countries. I honestly didn’t really know what to expect when I took the first bite of these “cookies”, but was pleasantly surprised that they taste very similar to Animal Crackers that we all know and love. These are just the bigger version of them I guess! They’re super delicious and would make perfect snack at any party or event paired with any kind of sweet dip!

Zaffi Taffy ($3.99)- I was super excited to try these healthy taffy treats because they look so delicious! They’re very interesting because unlike regular sugar-packed taffy, these are actually sugar-free, vegan, kosher, gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, and are certainly mother approved! When I first tried them, I was surprised with how naturally sweet and delicious they are! They even came with an awesome coupon to get one bag of these at my local store! Love them!

Goya Green Salsa ($2.29)- I’m such a salsa fan, so this big jar of green salsa was exciting to pull out of this month’s box! I pulled out some chips and dipped them in the salsa, and immediately fell in love with the flavors if this salsa! It’s a little on the spicy side, but definitely the perfect salsa to have at parties or get togethers to share with friends!

Cello Whisps ($3.99)- These Cello Cheddar Cheese Crisps were such a hit with the Degustabox community, that they brought them back a second time! Made with one ingredient- 100% cheddar cheese, these crisps are simply baked and then packaged up! Surprisingly, I’m not that big of a fan of these. I guess I have the unpopular opinion on these crisps, but after eating only a couple of these, they leave a bad taste in my mouth. Maybe it’s because I don’t like too sharp of cheese, but I’m going to have to try these in a different way. I heard they are good in soups, casseroles and even mac-n-cheese, so I will have to give them a second chance when I make those dishes!

Rufus Teague Smoky Apple BBQ Sauce ($4.99)- I’m such a huge fan of BBQ sauce, so I was also a little too excited when I pulled this stuff out of this month’s box. This hefty bottle of Smoky Apple BBQ Sauce hasn’t been used by me yet, but I’m thinking about making some baked chicken marinated in this sauce. It should be so delicious! Can’t wait to try it!

Post Grape Nuts Cranberry Vanilla ($4.99)- I haven’t eaten cereal or granola in so long, so I’m happy that Degustabox included this box of naturally favored Cranberry Vanilla granola in this month’s box! I love how each month they are so good at switching things up! This stuff can be eaten like cereal or by itself! It’s the perfect snack! Can’t wait to try it out!

Deep River Sweet Maui Onion Chips ($1.29)- Being the snacker that I am, these chips were one of the first things that I opened when I received the Degustabox. I absolutely love chips of all kinds, and these were super delicious. They are crunchy and sweet which makes them pretty addicting! If I see these next time I’m at the store, I will definitely pick them up again!

Indiana Kettle Corn ($3.29)-Kettle corn is my favorite kind of popcorn because it’s sweet! But after trying this specific kind of kettle corn, I love how they have the perfect balance of sweet and salty which makes them addicting! I highly recommend trying this brand of kettle corn because it is simply divine and will satisfy your kettle corn cravings!

Explore Cuisine Chickpea Pasta ($4.79)- This Chickpea pasta is definitely something that I’ve never heard of before. That’s the beauty of the Degustabox, you never know what you’re getting, yet are always pleasantly surprised at the new things that you get introduced to. I would have never picked this up at the store, but I will have to try this pasta out sometime soon for dinner! Being a healthier alternative to regular pasta, this stuff is supposed to taste delicious paired with your favorite sauce. Can’t wait to try it this week for dinner!

Final Thoughts

This month’s box was very interesting and fun to try out! I’m always so happy to find new things in each month’s new box that can add to my food storage, inspire new dinner meals, and help me discover foods that I wouldn’t otherwise try! Thanks Degustabox for being wonderful and helping me discover new foods!
