Since it’s the New Year, I thought a simple, yet shimmery everyday makeup look was fitting to share with all of my beautiful readers! I’ve always been a huge makeup lover, so putting together this very shimmery, yet wearable everyday makeup look was fun and thought-out so it can be worn by anybody!
The makeup pallet that inspired me to do this neutral look was the Cargo Limited Edition Blockbuster Eye Shadow ($39) pallet because it has so many versatile neutral colors for all skin tones. There’s plenty of mattes and shimmers that all effortlessly blend together to make the prettiest looks! I also have some super shimmery eye shadow sticks from Cargo that take makeup look to the next level!
I decided to go with a warm orangey gold makeup look because it would look amazing on literally any skin tone and it would look so great with any outfit or lipstick shade. You can never go wrong with a shimmery gold makeup look!
Start with a Foundation
Before I dove into my eye look, I used all of my favorite face products and applied them to make my skin to help it look airbrushed and glowy. I’m not going to go into too much detail this time about how I apply my foundation and concealer because everyone is different with the face products they use, but I will tell you all of my personal favorite products! First, I used my favorite foundation ever, the NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation in Gobi, the Anastasia Cream Contour Pallet, and Tarte Shape Tape in “Fair Neutral” to hightlight and contour my face, blending it all in with a damp beauty blender. I set my entire face with Laura Mercier’s Translucent Setting Powder to seal it all in. After finishing my face makup, I quickly did my eyebrows using Anastasia’s Brow Duo in “Medium Brown”.
Now for the eyes, I put a little bit of the Shape Tape concealer on my lids and blended it in with a damp beauty blender. I found over time that you really don’t have to splurge on an eye shadow primer because a little foundation works just as well, if not better than any eye shadow primer I’ve ever used in the past! Now to keep the makeup look simple, I used only three shades in the pallet to create the dimension of the shimmery eye look.
The first shade I used was “E7” which is a beautiful warm light brown that makes the most perfect transition shade.
I lightly buffed it into the crease area of my eyelids with a fluffy blending brush making sure to blend, blend, blend! My all time favorite blending brush is the Sigma E25 Blending brush. It always makes my eyeshadow look flawless!
After applying the transition shade, I warmed my eyes up even more with shade “D4”, an orangey brown shade that I swept over the transition shade but focused it more into the crease creating some nice dimension.
This shade turned out a little more orange than I was expecting but I was still very happy with how extremely pigmented this color is. I personally like to call any orange eyeshadow one of the most universal and flattering shades on any eye color!
After I was done with blending on the lids, I took a flat smudging brush to blend some of the same orange color onto the bottom lids creating a very blended out gradient. I love doing this because it ties the whole look together.
The last powder shade I used was “D2”, a gorgeous neutral gold color that I specifically picked out because it can be used on all skin tones.
It’s the perfect shade and adds the prettiest pop of shimmer!
Lastly, to make the eyes even more shimmery, I dotted a little bit of Cargo’s Longwear Eyeshadow stick in “Glacier Bay” into the center of my eyelid which is super waterproof making this makeup look last all day long!
I love how pigmented this waterproof, stay-all-day eyeshadow stick is! It glides effortlessly on top of eyeshadow and blends in perfectly!
To finish of this makeup look, all there’s left to do is sweep on some blush, highlighter, and a pop of color on the lips. I used my favorite blush compact by Tarte in “Peachy Pink”, highlighted my cheek bones with Tarte’s Glow Pallet, and finished the makeup look by adding Pixi’s gorgeous Matte Liquid Lip Stick in the Shade “Matte Beige”.
Also, don’t forget to complete the look by adding some mascara or falsies to make the whole look POP! I personally used my favorite lashes called “Heart & Soul” by Esqido.
I love how in just a few easy steps you can create this glowing glam makeup look to rock both day and night!
If you liked this makeup look, please feel free to share!
