If you’re anything like me, when summer comes around, there’s a list of essentials that I just can’t seem to live without! I’m sure we all have a mental list of things that we absolutely need that make life more comfortable and easy in these warm summer months. With summer in full swing, I thought I’d share some of my most random, but necessary essentials that I, personally just can’t seem to live without!
Insulated Water Bottle
A good metal, insulated water bottle is one of my favorite things to carry around in the summer because they easily help keep you stay cool and hydrated! Not only is a reusable metal water bottle better for the environment, but it’s also healthier for you! Plastic bottles can contain micro plastics and chemicals which is definitely not good for your body! I actually have quite the collection of metal bottles, but one of my favorites has to be the 32 oz. Stein Water bottle by Healthy Humans. I have the marble-style one which I love so much and take everywhere!
Lip Balm
One of my biggest fears is going somewhere without any lip balm and having to suffer if I have chapped lips, especially in the dry summer heat. Having dry or chapped lips is one of the most uncomfortable feelings, at least in my opinion! Anyone else feel the same way?! My favorite lip balm is the plain and simple Vaseline Lip Therapy Advanced Healing Tube. I’m actually allergic to like every other lip balm so this stuff I’ve found to be the absolute best for extremely sensitive, dry lips!
A Cozy Blanket
Keeping a cozy blanket in your car is essential in the summer because you will need something to sit on for those spontaneous picnics, camp fires, beach trips, and stargazing nights! I currently use a really old blanket, but this beautiful, HUGE Black and White Striped Blanket is definitely on my wish list!
Leave-in Conditioner
Leave-in conditioner is such a must-have for people with long hair. I use leave-in conditioner all year round but find myself using more of it around summer time because my hair gets extra dry and prone to sun damage. Constantly swimming in chlorinated pools also can make hair dry which leave-in conditioner can help with!
I’ve been using ColorProof’s PlushLocks Leave-In Conditioner and it makes my hair so soft, shiny, and protected from harmful UV rays! I did a separate blog post about a couple of my favorite ColorProof’s products here if you want to take a look!
Sun Screen
A good sunscreen is a must!! Of course sunscreen would be on my list of things that I can’t live without because I will fry in the sun if I don’t have it! I don’t tan very much because 1.) heredity and 2.) it’s so unhealthy and can cause skin cancer! I always make sure that I always use COOLA’s Organic Sunscreen Spray in the Pina Colada scent. I love it because it smells like you are on a tropical getaway, even if you are just lounging in your backyard! Check out my review of my other favorite COOLA product here.
Setting Powder
One thing that I don’t enjoy is getting back from a date or event and looking in the mirror to find that my forehead and T-zone is super oily and wondering how long you went looking like that! That’s just a personal problem of mine but one thing that is basically my best friend is setting powder! I’ve tried out so many setting powders and so far my absolute favorite is the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder because it’s perfect for people who have oily skin. It keeps skin looking flawless all day long!
Sunglasses
I’m a huge fan of sunglasses and always have a pair in my car and purse just in case I need them, which I quite often do when the sun is super bright. I like to buy cheaper sunglasses because I always tend to lose, drop or break them!
One company that I love to get sunglasses from is MarsQuest, a company that have virtually unbreakable sunglasses which comes in handy for me! They even have a video of them running over a pair of their sunglasses which shows just how durable their sunglasses really are.
Chocolate
This is the most random thing that I cannot live without- chocolate! I have a huge sweet tooth for chocolate and I’m not afraid to say it! You’ve gotta indulge a little bit in life! The specific chocolate that I absolutely can’t live without is Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. I guess this is a year-round essential for me but I just thought I would share this extremely random fact about me! It’s funny because whenever my husband brings me home cute little things like flowers, he ALWAYS brings me Reese’s too. He’s such a sweetie and knows the way to my heart!!
My Husband
Speaking about my husband, (this may sounds cheesy) but I seriously can’t live without him. He makes summer so much fun and of course every other season! He’s very adventurous, loves to travel and explore new places which is super fun here in Oregon around summer! It’s extremely fun to have a significant other or buddy who likes to go on adventures with you!
What are some of your random summer essentials that you can’t live without?! Let me know in the comments!
