Since blogging for a few years now, I’ve picked up some essentials that help me stay on track and organized. Today I wanted to share with you 5 essentials that every blogger should have to be successful. Here are the essentials that I use on a daily basis:
A Good Camera
Investing in a good camera is probably the most important thing to have when starting a blog. Having crisp photos and good photography helps your blog to have a better aesthetic while keeping your readers around a little longer. I simply use the Canon Rebel T5i which takes super crisp photos. If you don’t have a good camera, I would say you should start out with a good phone that has a good camera first! I have the Iphone 7S Plus which takes amazing photos. So if you can’t afford a camera, I would suggest upgrading to a phone with better camera quality.
Good Lighting
Whenever I take photos of anything, whether that being flat lays or outfit photos, I make sure I have the best lighting I can get. I usually always shoot in natural light, like by a window or outside, but that’s not always available. If you want to be able to shoot beautiful photos any time of the day, I highly suggest investing in proper photography lighting. I use Soft Boxes that I got on Amazon that produce a nice white soft light which makes it look like natural light!
Planner
Having a planner is one of the most important essentials on this list. Staying organized is key to keeping track of things you need to do, what’s coming, and when a post needs to be published. I have a physical planner that I usually take with me everywhere, but there are apps you can get that allow you to always have a planner on hand depending on your lifestyle. I honestly think everyone should have a planner to help them stay on top of things and not get overwhelmed. Plus, if you have a sudden good blog post idea, you will have something to write it down on!
Photo Editing Software
Even if you have super good lighting and a high quality camera, sometimes that isn’t enough to achieve those bright, crisp photos. I’ve found that investing in a good photo editing software like Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom really makes a difference with product photography. If you can’t afford a software which can be kind of spendy, I highly suggest trying out PicMonkey, a free online editing site that makes is super easy to tweak photos to your liking. And if you want to get the Premium Royale Package (which gives you access to all of the tools), it’s only $4.99 a month.
Social Media
Once you figure out the name of your blog, it is super important to get all kinds of social media like Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram etc. with the same username. Once joining all of the social media platforms, linking them back to your blog gives it a lot more exposure.
Bonus: Inspiration
Having inspiration is super important because it keeps your ideas running and motivates you to keep on blogging! I personally love flipping through magazines, scrolling through Instagram, and getting lost in Pinterest. Keep your imagination going and you will go far!
I hope you found this list helpful! I know that I use these essentials on a daily basis. What are some of your blogging essentials? Let me know in the comments to help out those other fellow bloggers out there!

Seriously photo editing software is key! I love that when I got Lightroom I had more control of my image look and presets made my photos even more professional looking.
