A Summer Style Guide + $100 Macy’s Gift Card GIVEAWAY

I  can’t believe we are already in mid-summer! With the gorgeous weather that summer brings and the inevitable heat, I constantly find myself searching my closet for clothing that will help me feel even the tiniest bit more comfortable when I go out and about.

With the temperatures climbing here in Oregon the last few weeks, I realized that I don’t have many summer clothes that are very comfortable, besides sport shorts and t-shirts… and they aren’t very stylish! So wanting to find some cute summer clothes that are comfortable and stylish, I knew exactly where to go!

Of course, I met up with my local Macy’s My Stylist and wanted to share with you guys a few tips and clothing ideas that help keep you cool in the summer, all while looking stylish! Plus I’m giving away a $100 Macy’s gift card so you guys can do some summer shopping too! The My Stylist showed me some beautiful summer pieces and even fabrics that are perfect for summer! Here are just some of the pieces that the My Stylist and I picked out that I just can’t help but share!

1. Tommy Hilfiger Twill Shirt Dress This light and airy dress is perfect for the summer because it’s made out of light material and also white, which makes you feel less heat when you’re out in the sun.

2. I.N.C Off-The-Shoulder Embroidered Top I can’t get over how effortlessly beautiful embroidered this top is. Since the sleeves are extremely wide and flowy, that means air can more easily flow into your shirt keeping sweat at bay (and can also conceal it because the sleeves are so loose!).

3. Style & Co. Cotton Off-The-Shoulder Dress Who doesn’t love a good off the shoulder sun dress?! Since this dress is made out of cotton, that means it’s very breathable and perfect for really warm weather. Cotton was basically made for warm weather!

4. Alfani Chain-Neck V-Hem Top  Paired with some cute shorts or capris, this super flattering top is the perfect top that can be dressed up or down whether you want to wear it in the day or night out on the town. I added this top to the list because it’s seriously the perfect top for summer, especially for people who just want to show off their arms without having to show any more skin since it’s a higher neckline.

5. Style & Co. Cotton Dress This gorgeous dress may look a little warm but I chose to share it because it’s made out of very thin cotton, so it’s also perfect for warm summer days and evenings. Since it’s also a little loose, air can circulate around your body which helps keep you feeling cool!

6. I.N.C Embroidered Off-The-Shoulder Top I chose to add this beautiful top to the list because first thing it’s off-the-shoulder which is very “in” this summer and also because do you see how flowy it is?! The flowier the clothing, the better you will feel in any kind of heat. I came across this top in-store and fell in love with it!

7. I.N.C Curvy-Fit Ripped Denim Shorts High waisted jean shorts are really in this summer so with the help of the My Stylist, we found these super cute ones that can go with just about any shirt! Love them!

8. I.N.C Linen Blend Lace-Up Dress  This was one of the pieces that I loved the most, surprisingly, even thought it’s made out of dark material. The My Stylist had this picked out for me and I tried it on and absolutely loved how light it felt. It’s made out of a light linen blend material which besides cotton, is one of the best materials you can wear in summer.

9. Style & Co. Tie-Front Maxi Skirt Flowy, high-waisted maxi skirts are really popular this summer for obvious reasons! A lot of air flow means a happier you, especially in the middle of summer!

Fabric Choice is SO Important

If you’ve noticed, the My Stylist helped me pick out not only certain flowy styles that help with air circulation, but specific fabrics because picking the right fabric is one of the most crucial things about staying cool in the summer! Cotton, for example is a great fabric to wear because it’s light in weight, helps absorb sweat, and provides better air circulation. Also, anything made out of linen is amazing, especially in the summer because it’s one of the most breathable fabrics out there! What Exactly is a My Stylist?

Macy’s has a free service where with the help of a My Stylist, they can help you find the perfect outfit, wardrobe, or gifts for any occasion. If you’re a Oregonian like me, I highly recommend giving him a visit at the Washington Square Mall because he is absolutely amazing at carefully helping you find the right styles, gifts, and even wardrobes for any time of year! If you aren’t a Oregonian, all you have to do is find the nearest Macy’s location that has the My Stylist service and get your appointment set up which is so easy to do!
