Rose Gold Spring Time Makeup Look Tutorial

Hi guys! It’s been so long since I’ve done a makeup post, so I thought I would share a spring makeup look with you all! Spring time is one of my favorite times of the year because the trees are starting to bloom beautiful blossoms and everything starts to look more beautiful!

Today I decided to do a rose gold cat-eyed look because it’s light, girly, and can be worn daily, or for a night out on the town. I hope you enjoy and find inspiration from this post! I also mention where I got my clothes I’m wearing in the photos at the bottom of this post in case you’re curious! Anyway, here’s how to get the rosey look:

Step 1: Prime, Apply, & Blend

The first thing I do before foundation is apply some makeup primer to help smooth my skin to help create a flawless ‘canvas’. My personal favorite primer at the moment is the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer ($32). I then take my favorite NARS All-Day Luminous Foundation ($48), apply 2 pumps of it (a little goes a long way!) and blend, blend, blend it in with a beauty sponge.

Step 2: Perfect Those Brows

Since I have naturally sparse, badly-shaped eyebrows, I like to shape my eyebrows and give them a bigger arch to give my eyes more lift. I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Duo ($23) in Medium Brown with a skinny eyebrow brush and give my brows some LIFE!

Step 3: Contour & Set

After concealing my under eye area with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer ($29) and contouring with the Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Pallet ($40), I set my makeup with Laura Mercier’s Translucent Loose Setting Powder ($38). This helps keep my makeup in place all day long and gives my skin a nice, airbrushed look.

Step 4: Make those eyes POP!

Using the Nordstrom C’est Chic Eyeshadow Pallet from MAC, I gave myself a rose gold inspired cat-eye.

First off, I gently dusted on the super light nude shadow in the shade “You’re Bluffing” on my entire lid and blurred it out towards the outer tip of my eyebrow.

Second, I blended the shade “Soft Brown” into the crease of my eyelid to add some more richness of color to the outer corner of my eyelid.

Third, taking a flat brush to pack on more color, I intensified the rose color of my lids by adding a little “Demitasse” then blending it our with a soft fluffy eye shadow brush to perfectly blend.

Fourth, I gently blended the shade “Embark” into my crease and blended it all in. It adds more dimension to the eyes and perfectly ties in all the colors.

Lastly, I packed on a little light pink shimmer shadow from Makeup Forever in the shade “Crystalline Papaya” ($21) on the center of my lids and finished off with a sharp cat eye using Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner ($22).

Step 5: Finishing Touches: Lashes, Highlight and Lipstick

To finish off the look, I simply added some falsies in the style “Whispy Mini” by House of Lashes ($9), some shimmery Elevation Highlighter ($15) from Pur Cosmetics, and Smashbox’s Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick ($24) in the shade “In Demand”. And that’s just about it to creating a warm, rose gold, spring time makeup look!
