How to Clean Makeup Brushes like a Pro
Being a makeup enthusiast, there honestly aren’t many things in the world better than squeaky clean makeup brushes, am I right? Keeping makeup brushes clean not only extends the life of them longer, it also means better application results, and less bacteria lurking around to cause acne or infections.
Since keeping makeup brushes in tip-top shape is super important, today I wanted to share the fastest, easiest way to clean dirty, bacteria-filled makeup brushes like a pro with Sigma’s brand new 100% natural SigMagic Brushampoo. Since trying it out, it has become the only makeup brush cleaner that I will ever use or need!
Here’s how I clean my makeup brushes with the SigMagic Brushampoo:
Step 1: Gather Those Frequently Used Brushes
The first thing I do is take my most frequently used brushes and lay them out. As you can see below, my favorite Baking + Strobing brushes are in need of a good cleanse. I like to wash them at least once a week to avoid them getting caked with makeup making them hard to use.
Step 2: Get Soapy with Brushampoo!
I then take a brush, dampen it, and pump 1-3 squirts of the Sigmagic Brushampoo depending on how much product is in the fibers. This brush only had a small amount of powder on it, so I only used one pump. I love this specific cleanser because a little goes a long way.
Step 3: Swirl
I then use my Sigma Spa® Express Brush Cleaning Glove to gently swirl the brush around the rubber pad to get the deepest cleanse without having to roughly scrub it. Step 4: Rinse, Let dry, and Viola!
Once I don’t see any more makeup in the fibers, I rinse it with warm water, then set all of my makeup brushes on a paper towel to dry. I make sure to shape the brushes while they are still wet so that they don’t fray or look deformed once they are dry.
